Indiana players Jordan Hulls, Christian Watford and Jeremiah Rivers following their win over Illinois at home 1/27/2011. ----- From http://indiana.sbnation.com by Ryan Phillips 1/28/2011 "The Indiana Hoosiers put together 40 minutes of excellent defensive basketball and came away with a 52-49 upset win over No. 21 Illinois on Thursday night. The win was the first over a top 25 team in the Tom Crean Era. Whether it was Jordan Hulls burying dagger threes, Christian Watford calmly nailing free throws, or Jeremiah Rivers' shutdown defense on Demetri McCamey, the Hoosiers, to a man, brought it last night. They brought everything they had and left it in a pool in the middle of Assembly Hall. And as the students rushed the floor following the final buzzer, Tom Crean had his first big win as the head man in Bloomington. Of course, over the past three years, every win has seemed big. The work Indiana had to do to climb to out of the smoking pile of rubble that Kelvin Sampson left behind has been taxing on everyone, including the fans. The explosion of emotion from the crowd Thursday night no doubt had as much to do with the previous two seasons as it did with the action on the court in front of it."
