Newt Gingrich, Super Genius. Speaks mind, then says his mind made a mistake. Hhhhhhmmmm. Better not to challenge the right-wing social engineering thing. Here's an idea. Let's ask our local Republican Tea Party folk if they support killing Medicare and let's get them on tape and post it here. Sound good? User Comments from Youtube- With Republicans you're either with us or against us. No room for free thought. PS They're not being fiscally conservative, they're just cutting progressive projects. A trillion dollars for a trumped up war in Iraq is patriotic, but fixing our infrastructure, funding schools and Health Care for workers who can't afford it anymore is communism. Conservative indeed. Ryan's budget is a vile assault on the American people. But that's what repubs do - beat ordinary men and women and children into the ground. Republican plan: Make people suffer so they will worker harder for less. Meanwhile the oligarchs call the shots and vacate once the country is no longer fit to live in. Where the hell do I donate money to put this commercial on the air in as much elderly communities as possible??? That sends a message to the Republican field - have an independent opinion - get shot.
They promised jobs in November of 2010. They LIED! Instead we've gotten 7 months of what former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich calls "Right-wing social engineering" with attacks on women, children, the poor and workers rights in favor of more money for the richest 1 or 2%. This was a brief warning most missed last fall even though we've seen this show of theirs a few times before. User Comments from Youtube- How blind are Americans? After a decade of record breaking profits for BIG BANKS, BIG OIL, BIG PHARMA, BIG BOX, BIG AGRA, BIG MONOPOLIES of ever kind & the obscene salaries paid to CEOs in virtually ever corner of the corporate business sector and the glut enjoyed by the War Lords of Wall Street... all topped off with Bush's Bailout Bonanza . . . how can anyone not in a coma understand that the Republi cons who made it happen don't care about the labor force or our problems. They really don't. If these rich folks are using their wealth to blackmail us into supporting the GOP, then they are criminals. For all you anti socialist and deregulation enthusiasts out there. 1.) Quit driving on our “socialist” roads. 2.) Never call your “socialist” police department when you need them. 3.) Never get a book from you local “socialist” library. 4.) Don’t call your “socialist” fire department if you are on fire. 5.) Eat only foods that are not USDA inspected.

Some background- Mormonism is the religion practiced by Mormons, and is the predominant religious tradition of the Latter Day Saint movement. This movement was founded by Joseph Smith, Jr. beginning in the 1820s as a form of Christian primitivism. During the 1830s and 1840s, Smith gradually distinguished itself from traditional Protestantism, and what is called Mormonism today represents the new, non-Protestant faith taught by Smith in the 1840s. After Smith's death, most Mormons followed Brigham Young to the Rocky Mountains as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Other branches of Mormonism include Mormon fundamentalism, which seeks to maintain practices and doctrines such as polygamy that were discontinued by the LDS Church, and various other small independent denominations. The term Mormon derived from the Book of Mormon, one of the faith's religious texts. Based on the name of that book, early followers of founder Joseph Smith, Jr. were called Mormons, and their faith was called Mormonism. The term was initially considered pejorative, but is no longer considered so by Mormons. On September 17th, 2001, George W Bush declared he would get Osama bin Laden, "Dead or Alive" but on March 13th, 2002 he said 'I truly am not that concerned about him', after being asked the million-dollar question 'where is bin Laden? Remember, this is just SIX MONTHS after 9/11. In response to a reporters question, President Bush tells the world that he is "truly not that concerned" with catching the man who murdered 3,000 Americans just six months and two days earlier because "we've marginalized him." Please note that he ALMOST says "I don't know where he is, nor do I... (really care)." but catches himself in mid-sentence.
Pence Lets The Truth Slip On His Uncompromising Stance. April 6th, 2011-Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) appeared on Fox News to explain his uncompromising position over funding the federal government. At one point, Pence appeared to let the truth slip out about the true aims of Republican negotiators, telling host Greta Van Susteren that what Republicans are trying to do is score a victory for “the Republican people.” Soon after realizing that he said that out loud, he backtracked, saying that he wants to score a victory for the American people, not (winks) the Republican Party. Pence spent the bulk of the month of march ranting at Tea party rallies with threats that the Government of the People should be shut down. Polls from Gallup and the Wall Street Journal/NBC News through the weeks leading up to a last minute deal found that self-identified Democrats and independents wanted leaders to compromise while self-identified Republicans boasted they would rather see the government shut down than compromise. Mitch Daniels and the Republicans are trying to ram a radical right-wing agenda through the Indiana legislature, making Indiana a vital front in the GOP's nationwide war on working families. In the face of this and other assaults on middle-class values, Democratic state legislators in Indiana, Wisconsin, and other statehouses nationwide have taken the lead in standing up for and defending working families. -DLCC Executive Director Michael Sargeant 3/21/2011 From http://www.dlcc.org/ TEXT- Mitch Daniels and his friends have big plans for hardworking Hoosier families. Not more jobs or better wages … Instead, Daniels and the Republicans in Indianapolis want to kill collective bargaining … slash wages for workers … and decimate public schools by sending our tax dollars to private schools. But Democrats are standing up to Daniels’ anti-middle class agenda – and standing up for us. Tell Governor Daniels: Stop hurting middle-class families. -------------- DLCC Contact Carolyn Fiddler fiddler@dlcc.org
Indiana Hoosiers Tom Prichard with the put-back dunk over Minnesota on 2/2/2011 in Bloomington. Go IU! ----------------- Indiana Pulls Another Upset 60-57 over #20 Minnesota For the second straight week the Indiana Hoosiers have pulled off an upset of a top 20 team. This time the victim was the Minnesota Golden Gophers, who trailed as many as 16 before storming back to cut the lead to three. Verdell Jones III hit a huge three pointer with 2:05 left to stem the Golden Gophers’ run and push the lead to 60-54. Minnesota was able to cut the lead back to three and get a defensive stop when Jordan Hulls missed a shot with 13 seconds left, but Blake Hoffarber lost control of the ball and was only able to get off an off-balanced three-point attempt as time expired. Tom Pritchard and Jones II each led the Hoosier with 12 points, but an improved defensive effort by Indiana held Minnesota to 37% shooting from the field.
4/28/2010 America's Headline of the Week. Calls to boycott Arizona grow over new "Paper's Please" law. Will Other States Follow Arizona's extreme right track on Immigration? Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, said yesterday "It's not a great time to take this issue up in Washington." 4/26/2010 Rachel gives brief follow up on recent AZ Immigration Law with background on those that wrote the new law. Americans may or may not be surprised to learn what usual suspects are behind this bonehead move... Many Republicans have now flip floped on this issue over the past 48 hours after Tea Party sensation Marco Rubio has spoken out against it. ---------------------- Last Friday Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed a Republican backed bill into law that will require law enforcement officers to perform documentation checks on people in Arizona. This is the result of Arizona’s frustration with the lack of help from the federal government with the states ever more violent illegal immigrant problem. Arizona has valid points and concerns – recently a rancher was murdered on his property in the border lands and the violence in the Mexican drug cartels has increased. Ciudad Juarez – just across the border from El Paso, TX has become a war zone and businesses have packed up shop and left town. These facts aside, the methods that Arizona has just passed into law are troublesome. Immigration policy is under federal jurisdiction – this is not something like gambling or motor vehicle laws that are in bailiwick of state government. The United States cannot have 50 states creating their own immigration policies or requiring all sorts of documentation that would allow a person to be legal in one region but not in another. Although Arizona’s new law has safeguards in place to prevent racial profiling it is not difficult to see where this is heading. Officers will be able to stop Latinos at will to “check their papers.” People who have forgot their papers will be subject to arrest and deportation – although it is unclear to this writer how a state can get the power or right to deport. This is the type of harassment that our nation has gone to war over – defeating fascism in World War II and while fighting communism in the Cold War. Of course, we happily look the other way when it is in our “interest” to have a blind eye (Saudi Arabia comes to mind.) The new law in Arizona is likely to be struck down by the United States Supreme Court if for no other reason than that it is giving the states power in an area reserved for the federal government. Arizona has fired the opening salvo on behalf of the Border States as a wake up call to the federal government – enforce our borders, come up with a new, workable immigration plan or expect the states to try and take the situation into their own hands. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) has put this topic high on his list of things to get done in the coming weeks. We can only hope that he is serious and plans to work in a bi-partisan way to get this done. There is much doubt that anything will be done – Reid is pandering to the Latino population of his home state and there are so many ideas from the ultra liberal to the ultra strict on how the country should tackle this ever present problem that a compromise with our current set of leaders seems to be a long shot at best. The problem needs to be solved but not at the expense of common sense and individual rights that this country has fought for and defended for over 200 years. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Latest -"A volatile issue neither party wanted to fight over just before important midterm congressional elections." http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/28/us/politics/28immig.html?partner=rss&emc=rss http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/04/28/2010-04-28_meghan_mccain_criticizes_arizonas_antiillegal_immigrant_law_as_dad_sen_john_mcca.html http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-0428-arizona-boycott-20100428,0,3848260.story http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20003648-503544.html

RE: The unprecedented number of death threats against President Obama. Secret Service report 400% increase. --------------------------------- ASHEVILLE, NC 4/25/2010 — Airport police arrested a 23-year-old Ohio man Sunday who was carrying a handgun and listening to police radio frequencies near the runway around the time President Barack Obama's flight was leaving Asheville Regional Airport, according to investigators. oseph Sean McVey, of Coshocton, parked his car near a gate at the end of the terminal that leads to the runway just before 2 p.m. as Air Force One was taxiing, according to a case summary by police filed at the Buncombe County Magistrate's Office. Police charged him with going armed to the terror of the public, a misdemeanor offense, but investigators haven't yet determined whether he was attempting to target the president. McVey was being held at the Magistrate's Office on Sunday on a secured bond set at $100,000. Airport Director Lew Bleiweis said the suspect didn't get close to the president, who departed at 2 p.m. Police began questioning McVey after noticing his car's Ohio license plate and other equipment, including a digital camera on the dashboard and four large antennas on the trunk lid, according to the case summary. McVey got out of the car and started talking on a handheld radio attached to a remote earpiece, and the officer noticed he was wearing a sidearm. The officer and Secret Service agents asked for McVey's identification, and when they ran his driver's license number through a computer, it did not come back as valid, according to the summary. When the officer asked what he was doing, McVey stated “he heard the president was in town. He stated he wanted to see the president,” according to the summary. Officers removed McVey's Springfield XD 40 handgun and detained him. While searching his Pontiac Grand Prix, investigators heard police department radio traffic, “indicating he was monitoring our frequency when he arrived.” Officers also found a siren box under his steering wheel, several pieces of paper with agency radio frequencies written on them and a sticky note in the cup holder with rifle scope formulas on them, according to the case summary. Bleiweis said McVey's intentions were unclear, but the case remains under investigation. Airport Police Capt. Kevan Smith said the investigation is being pursued by airport police, rather than the Secret Service. Smith said he couldn't say whether further charges will be filed. Swannanoa resident Max Henkell was at the airport Sunday to watch the president's departure when he saw officers converge on McVey in parking lot, where rental car offices are located. “They searched him and it looked like he had an empty pistol holster on his side, and I think I hear one of them say he had had a gun,” Henkell said. “When I realized what was going on, I was flabbergasted,” he said. --------------------- * Bachmann compared Washington, D.C. to “enemy lines” and urged her supporters to become “armed and dangerous” and fight a “revolution”.
